I remember the night I proclaimed a truth out loud that changed the course of my life. It was late at night and I couldn’t sleep. Deep sadness had consumed my entire being. At this point in my life, I only knew OF God. I talked ABOUT God but I never knew him intimately for myself. I was told God healed. So instead of entertaining the dark thoughts, I played a sermon on YouTube. It was about 10 minutes in of me half paying attention when the pastor said to claim this statement out loud: “I am a child of God.” Then he said: “I'm serious. I need you to pause this video and say it out loud right now.” I then felt a tug inside telling me to listen to him. I paused the video and I sat in silence for awhile. I couldn’t bring myself to say it. I kept hearing “Say it out loud” in my mind. I was hesitant. It felt weird and corny, but I finally did. This rush of emotions came and I couldn’t control my tears. I said it again and again. I cried until I fell asleep. When I woke up, I grabbed a sticky note and sharpie and wrote it down. I stuck it to my mirror. This was the start of Jesus knocking.
The tongue has the power of life and death. Your words hold power. Knowing who you truly are and claiming that out loud will empower you to fully walk in the authority that God called you to walk into. There’s a crown waiting for you to claim. Allow these Biblical truths to wash over you and declare them everyday. Holy Holy Holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come!!
Prayer: Father- help me to keep my heart soft so I see where I need to renew my mind in your grace. Fill me with a new vision for my life to see myself and others through your eyes.
